He brought his experience and knowledge of medical massage techniques and business expertise into the school as an instructor and created the curriculum to pass his knowledge and techniques on to his medical massage students. Mr. Lacatus opened the Main location in Sinking Spring and a year later a branch location of the school located within the Reading Muhlenberg Career & Technology Center 2615 Warren Road Reading, PA 19604. He successfully applied for accreditation through COMTA, Commission On Massage Therapy Accreditation. Accreditation and was approved April 15, 2016. As a new school, the initial application was granted accreditation with a clean application with no conditions. He is the Director of the Financial Aid and Business Office overseeing all Financial Aid administrative capability. He was instrumental in applying to petition to have massage therapy approved on the high priority occupation list September 1, 2016, to become an eligible training provider for Berks County through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. As well as obtaining federal approval for the school as a training provider for the Trade Adjustment Program (TAA) that provides a path for employment growth and opportunity through aid to US workers who have lost their jobs as a result of foreign trade.

LeeAnne Spohn, Vice President, School Administrator, Financial Aid Administrator, Veterans Aid Administrator, Career Counseling, Advertising/Marketing, and Personnel Services Ms. Spohn experience consists of many aspects of opening and operating a private licensed school. As the Financial Aid Administrator and Veterans Aid Administrator she also assists the Director/President of the school with hiring and training of staff and hiring of teachers, record keeping, developing policies and procedures for financial aid compliance, staff, and students, revising the school catalog, student services, personnel services and any other administrative work. Isabel is a Graduate of Berklee Colege of Music, Boston MA. Isabel is performing the following tasks: Procures and follows-up on prospective student referrals from applicants and other sources. Effectively manages all inquiries in accordance with standards operating procedures and best practices. Successfully utilizes and manages online chat program to assist website visitors and recruit potential students. Conducts interviews and tours with prospective students; determines whether the student meets admission requirements and is otherwise qualified for their program of interest, makes judgment concerning whether student will be successful within the school and/or program of choice and works to ensure the student is enrolled in the most appropriate program; refers to other programs or locations as appropriate. Achieves enrollment, activity and outreach goals on an ongoing basis and acts ethically and with integrity in all activities in the course of employment with European Medical School Of Massage LLC. Strictly adheres to the provisions of the EMSOM Admissions Code of Conduct. Maintains a thorough knowledge of and complies with all applicable corporate, state, and federal regulations and policies for Admissions. Facilitates the student’s enrollment and registration process by ensuring proper completion of the enrollment agreement, a collection of related fees, scheduling of admissions testing and financial planning appointment, notice of registration and orientation dates and so forth.

My name is Madaline Valdez. I am 21 years old. I graduated from Reading High School. Have experience in Microsoft Office. My task is to assist on scheduling appointments and assisting with the student clinic. I always had an interest in helping others feel better and relieve pain. I started my career as a medical massage therapist at European Medical School of Massage. I am grateful that I am working with EMSOM and be part of this growing school and awesome field.
ELENA BENFER Adjunct Instructor, LMT-PA
I’m originally from Russia, after working as an accountant for over 20 years, I decided to change my career which focuses on improving the well being of people in need. I decided to begin my educational path in the field of medical massage therapy in 2016. I graduated from European Medical School of Massage in 2017 with a Diploma in medical massage therapy. After passing the MBLEX, I became a Licensed Medical Massage Therapist and started working at two different places: a Chiropractor’s office and Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa in Wyomissing, PA. The European Medical School of Massage taught me valuable skills in British sport, deep tissue, Swedish, geriatric, pediatric, lymphatic drainage, and pregnancy massage techniques, as well as trigger point therapy. My specialties are deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy. After learning all these experiences, it is my passion to share the skills with students who are eager to learn the variations and practices of medical massage therapy.
BRITTANY POOL Instructor, LMT-PA
She graduated from Berks Technical Institute for Massage Therapy, receiving her Pennsylvania license in 2010. Before she graduated, she took her externship at a chiropractors office where hey later hired her. Brittany worked for the chiropractors’ office for 4 years before finding other experience at a massage spa. After 3 years of being at the spa, Brittany decided to go back to the chiropractic office realizing medical massage was more for her. Brittany specializes in customized medical massage sessions, deep tissue massage, prenatal and infant massage, reflexology and trigger point therapy. After spending years learning different modalities, Brittany’s passion is to help other students learn and practice medical massage therapy. Continuing education classes I took recently are oncology massage, hospice massage, orthopedic and sports. Types of medical massage modalities are reducing headaches, piriformis syndrome, sciatic pain and frozen shoulder/ neck and shoulder issues. I have one child, Her name is Kaylei and she’s 4. My hobbies include concerts and hiking/ being outdoors.
ELLEN MARTINInstructor, LMT-PA
Ellen Martin graduated from The National Academy of Massage Therapy and Healing Sciences in 2009. She is licensed by the state of Pennsylvania and is also nationally certified with NCBTMB. She is well versed in numerous massage modalities and techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, prenatal, neuromuscular therapy, cross-fiber friction, trigger point therapy, cranial sacral, and many more. She has worked in a variety of settings throughout the course of her career and opened her own practice in 2017. Ellen believes that by using a scientific approach to massage, we as therapists can solidify our place in the medical community and be on the forefront of pain management. She is enthusiastic and excited to bring her passion for the industry into the classroom and looks forward to having an impact on upcoming generations of massage therapists.
